What a snorkeling traveler is actually deciding
These are the questions our guides in this category answer before a traveler contacts anyone. By the time an inquiry reaches you, the traveler has usually already worked through them:
- Whether a nervous swimmer, or a child who has never worn a mask, will be safe and happy in open water
- Whether a reef trip or a shallow, protected site suits the people they are actually bringing
- Whether flotation, in-water guides and a patient crew are available without having to ask awkwardly
- Whether the day's wind makes the outer reef a bad idea and something closer in a better one
What a useful inquiry can contain
The Experience Finder asks travelers the questions a good operator asks before quoting. An inquiry in this category can carry:
- Party size, and the ages of any children
- Swim confidence, stated plainly, including when someone is anxious
- Whether they want a reef trip or something calmer and closer
- Private or shared preference, and how firm that preference is
- Dates, including whether those dates can move
Travelers answer what they know — “not sure” is an allowed answer throughout — so no single inquiry will carry every field. What arrives is what the traveler chose to tell us, plus their explicit consent to be contacted about it.
Who fits this category
A strong fit looks like
- You run trips where a first-timer is a normal guest rather than a complication
- You carry flotation as standard and your crew gets in the water with people
- You will move a group to a calmer site when conditions or nerves call for it
- You can explain honestly what visibility is likely to be, rather than promising it
Probably not a fit if
- Your trips assume confident swimmers and you would rather they stayed that way
- Your capacity is fixed at a size that makes a family of five awkward to place
The response standard we ask for
Same or next business day. Snorkeling inquiries skew toward families still choosing between activities, so a slow reply usually means they booked something else entirely.
We ask you to tell us when an inquiry is bad — wrong activity, outside your area, a date you cannot cover. That is not a complaint, it is the feedback that makes the next one better, and it is how an invalid inquiry gets handled rather than counted.
What category exclusivity means here
Snorkeling is the category travelers ask the most questions about before committing. Being the only operator we introduce means those questions land with you while the traveler is still deciding, rather than after they have compared six listings.
And what it does not mean
- It applies to this category in the Key West market for the agreed pilot term — not permanently, and not across the site
- It is a commitment about who we introduce, not a promise about how many introductions there will be
- It does not stop us publishing guidance that recommends a different activity when that is the honest answer for a traveler
- It becomes real only when a written pilot agreement is in place — until then, no category is claimed or reserved by anyone
